Consultation, collaboration, integration and innovation.

Advanced digital workflows support clearer coordination, sharper decision-making and improved performance across every stage of a project.

The best engineering has always pushed boundaries. Digital engineering is what allows our people to push further – testing more options, resolving more complexity, and giving clients the information they need to make confident decisions at every stage of a project.

Our Digital Engineers work across every discipline at TTW, embedded alongside structural, civil, façade and construction teams to identify where technology can improve outcomes, reduce risk, improves efficiency, or unlocks something that wouldn’t otherwise be possible.

These are the people who sit at the intersection of engineering rigour and technical innovation. They understand both the design intent and the delivery constraints, which means the tools and workflows they build are grounded in how projects work.

When our engineers can test thousands of design options before a single element is committed, the result is better buildings and smarter use of materials.

We embed digital thinking from concept through to fabrication, so our engineers can explore more, resolve more and deliver better.

  • How we work

We integrate digital thinking from the earliest stages of a project, where it has the greatest influence. By building digital workflows into the design process from concept through to fabrication, our team creates an environment where engineers can explore, iterate and innovate without adding risk to the program.

Our capability spans six interconnected areas:

    • Parametric Engineering: automating engineering workflows to explore more solutions and provide a greater level of structural input from concept stage through to completion, with geometry adjustment right up to fabrication and automatic analysis and design updates
    • Geometry: solutions to complex geometry problems that improve buildability and reduce costs while sustaining architectural intent, rationalising complex geometry to standardise panelisation, node connections and secondary framing, while optimising forms and envelopes to enhance structural performance, shading and comfort
    • Software Development: beyond the competent application of commercial software packages, our engineers have developed tools that extend the capability of traditional modelling by further leveraging algorithms in the generation of geometry, analysis and design
    • Interoperability: developing workflows of data from CAD to analysis to documentation, adding accuracy to the process of exchanging information and saving time
    • R&D and Education: continuously investing in class-leading processes and software, supplemented by in-house development, allowing many thousand design options to be tested quickly and efficiently, producing intuitive visualisations that support informed client decisions based on detailed analysis and sound engineering principles
    • Sustainability: in collaboration with our Sustainability team, an Embodied Carbon tool that allows engineers to calculate, compare, benchmark and visualise embodied carbon across your project
