Heritage Engineering

Preserving the past with confidence.

Extending the life of existing structures while supporting their ongoing use.

Our Integrated Services

Consultation, collaboration, integration and innovation.

Every heritage structure carries a story. The materials, the craftsmanship, the decisions made by the people who built it, all of it embedded in fabric that, once lost, cannot be recovered. Our Heritage Engineers understand that responsibility better than most. They work at the intersection of history, conservation science and structural engineering, bringing the technical depth needed to protect what matters while enabling structures to serve the communities around them for generations to come.

This is a discipline that demands a rare combination of skills. Our people are fluent in historical construction methods and materials including sandstone, wrought iron, faience, timber, reinforced concrete, as well as the latest diagnostic technologies and high-performance repair systems. That breadth is what allows them to make the right call: when to conserve, when to adapt, and how to do either without compromising the integrity of what exists.

Heritage structures sit at the heart of communities. They are landmarks, places of gathering, carriers of cultural identity. When our engineers work on them, they are not just solving a structural problem, they are supporting a community hold onto something irreplaceable.

We work at the intersection of history, conservation science and structural engineering to protect what matters and keep it standing for generations to come.

  • How we work

We provide strategic advice that balances conservation of heritage materials, structure and functionality, whilst employing the latest technology and high-performance materials to increase longevity and lower maintenance costs.
